Enjoying the Fire

I got a couple of pictures last night of the dogs enjoying the fire we had going!  It has been cold in Texas the last couple of days!

Sunday was just a Bad Day

Sunday, January 2nd, Lee and I were home for the day.  We didn't have alot going on and were trying to catch up from moving and the holidays, etc.  That morning after Lee took Blanche downstairs to go potty, he came in and said he thought Blanche had worms.  OMG, yes she did have worms.  We haven't dealt with this before, Lily never had them so we called an emergency vet and took her in.  We were there a couple of hours and they told us it really isn't a big deal, puppies usually do get worms.  We were just worried about Lily getting them and we don't have a vet for Blanche yet.  So long story short, we dewormed her (and I now call her wormy) and she is back to healthy.  We cleaned, vacuumed, washed everything and I think we have been successful at not having a new infestation.  Lily never got them (and the Vet Tech was so nice and gave us some deworming pill for her).  Blanche has to go to the regular vet and get another dose of deworming pills next week and then she is done.  Good news.

That same evening I got a call from my Dad and he gave me the news of my Grandmother passing away.  So, all in all, it wasn't a great Sunday and it was a really long week.  We went to Bryan/College Station on Tuesday for the visitation and Wednesday for the funeral.  It was a graveside service and it was really great to meet and talk with several of my Grandmother's friends that are still living.  It was good to see family that we don't get to see often.  And Lee was great, he was there for whatever I needed!  That meant so much to me!  I have attached some pictures of our family that we took before the funeral (hence everyone in black).

Lee and the girls

Lee loves the girls!  They get along so great now, all they do is play.  Lily gets tired before Blanche does but they are so sweet!

Christmas with the Gwaltney's

We enjoyed Christmas with Lee's family on New Year's Day.  Lots of presents and good food!  The dogs had a blast running around the backyard and playing!

My snowman plate, awesome!

Bill got some nice Columbia sweatshirts from Lee and I.

But I think his favorite gift was the John Wayne ornament we gave him!

My precious new snowman!

You see Lily found her spot on Scooter's lap while we opened presents.

She's like 'What, I'm comfortable right here'.  :)

Scooter liked his giftcard Lee and I got him.

Barbara's new Christmas dishes from Pier 1.

I also got some new Christmas bowls from Pier 1.

Maggie and Lily hanging out on the couch.

Maggie is so precious, she is a ball of energy.  Look at Lily, she is already pooped:)

New Year's Eve 2010

We were invited to dinner and drinks with some really great friends this year.  Lee and I usually just stay home and enjoy the night but this year we decided to hang out with our friends and enjoy the atmosphere!  We went to Mi Cocina and had a REALLY great meal along with great Mambo Taxi's!  Thanks Allison and Bobby for a great night!

New DO

I haven't updated in a while so I'm going back a little bit here...........

I decided I needed a new do, so off to Gina I went.  She cut off 10 inches or so but I actually couldn't give my hair to Locks of Love or another organization because of my highlights (they have bleach in them) and I guess something happens during the process of making the wig with bleached hair so they won't take it.  Bummer.

The picture below is some of what Gina cut off.  I don't know why it isn't right side up but I don't feel like messing with it now:)

I love it.  It is so easy to take care of and I can still get it in a little ponytail for working out!  A new me for 2011.

Grandma Bea

Thank you all for the prayers that have been sent to my family during this really awful time!  We can feel the prayers and I know Dad is feeling them most!  Grandma Bea started having a really hard time in October/November.  She fell at her house and broke her hip.  She had hip replacement surgery and was actually doing pretty well.  Lee and I went to Kingwood to see her after surgery and she was in alot of pain but she had her spunk.  This was the first time for Lee to meet Grandma Bea and it was the first time I had seen her in way too long.  I feel extremely guilty for not visiting and showing her just how much I loved her.  I know she went peacefully on Sunday but I wish I could tell her one more time how much I love her.  With that said, take the advice that everyone gives, tell your family and friends just how much you love them!
